Madonna Estate wines have been handcrafted by the Bartolucci Family, Napa Valley winegrowers and winemakers for nearly a century. They are created from 100 percent organically grown grapes, which are dry farmed on the estate vineyard. Through great skill, elegance and care, Madonna Estate wines are styled to capture the best of the vintage, the vineyard, and the variety.

Since 1922 the Bartolucci Family has consistently created a perfect marriage of grapes and wine at Madonna Estate. Nicholson Ranch vineyards were first planted in 1995 on land that was a former cattle ranch.  Deepak Gulrajani planted Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Syrah over the next three years. The estate vineyards are planted on the southern tip of the Mayacamas Range where volcanic slopes meet marine sedimentary soils.  The San Pablo Bay and the Petaluma Gap act as conduits, funneling chilled air and fog into Nicholson Ranch. Warm days and cool nights mean Nicholson Ranch vineyards have climatic conditions that enable the production of elegant red varietals, and fresh whites. The soil diversity of the estate requires us to manage the vineyards block by block, a practice that results in complex wines that showcase a true sense of place.

Nicholson Ranch strives to produce wines that have true varietal character and are an expression of the soil from which the fruit is grown. This requires great attention to the farming process and minimal intervention during the winemaking process. All Nicholson Ranch wines are made from estate-grown grapes.

Humble beginnings, a pioneering spirit, brave hearts and a commitment to making a wine for the people. The Sutter Home family story is an American story, as timeless as it is time-honored. Their heritage dates back three generations to when the Trinchero family left their home in New York to pursue the American Dream in California’s nascent wine industry. Today, they are proud to be the brand that has introduced more Americans to wine on the table than any other, and their philosophy remains the same: “a great product for a fair price.”

Sutter Home has a rich history of giving wine lovers the delicious products they want, starting with the creation of the original White Zinfandel in the 1970s. Today, with more than 20 crowd-pleasing varieties, there is a Sutter Home wine for everyone, traditional types such as Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, to more casual wines like Moscato and Sangria.
