Holiday Nights & Sights Tour

See San Francisco this December like you’ve never seen it before. For one month only, the Holiday Nights & Sights Tour shows the City by the Bay off at its seasonal best. Eye-catching displays of lights adorn trees, skyscrapers, parks, bridges, boats, and cable cars, too.

Just get your tickets and hop aboard. San Francisco is all decked out in its holiday finest and we can’t wait to whisk you around the town to point out and talk about all the highlights. We’ll stop for photos and provide the holiday music, complimentary candy canes, and Santa hats to set the mood.

Holiday Decorations in Union Square

The heart of the city is home to one of San Francisco’s best-loved Christmas trees as well the first giant public menorah, since 1975. In the true modern day sense of evergreen, the tree is reusable! It stands 83 feet tall and is covered by more than 30,000 lights and 1,100 decorations. Grab a camera to capture the action as skaters twirl on the ice rink across from Macy’s where storefront windows are all dressed up in enormous red bows. Palm trees with trunks wrapped and leaves draped in white lights are sure to please.

Pier 39 and Fisherman’s Wharf for the Holidays

See how the waterfront reflects holiday cheer at Pier 39 and Fisherman’s Wharf where a dazzling 60-foot Christmas tree is the centerpiece of a display synchronized to favorite seasonal songs. The seasonal music accompanies a swirling kaleidoscope of colored lights and decorative baubles. At the entrance to Fisherman’s Wharf, San Francisco’s most-visited attraction, even the giant iconic crab wheel sign is decorated for Christmas.

Ghirardelli Square Goes Festive

Pretty in white with big golden ornaments, topping out at 35 feet, the Christmas tree at Ghirardelli Square is the city’s oldest tradition of its kind, since 1964. It’s the perfect complement to strings of lights at the handsome, historic landmark of Ghirardelli Square. Of course, the famous Ghirardelli sign is specially lit up in holiday colors and the fountain in the plaza is done up in red. (Be sure to come back for a delicious hot chocolate.)

Bay Bridge Lights

As one of the world’s biggest art installations, “The Bay Lights” is a spectacle consisting of 25,000 white LED along a suspension span of the beautiful San Francisco-Oakland Bridge. Uniquely set to a computerized non-repeating program, the lights appear to twinkle and dance as they’re reflected on the water.

Embarcadero Lights Seen From Treasure Island

We cross over a single span of the Bay Bridge to Treasure Island, a lesser known island in the bay, for the best San Francisco downtown and Financial District skyline views. This is the perfect vantage point for a panoramic shot. In the foreground are the four Embarcadero Center buildings outlined in 17,000 white holiday lights overlooking the city’s largest holiday ice rink.
